Man I forgot how entertaining Stephanie Plum can be. She sure can get into some interesting situations and meet some unique individuals. Don’t mind reading about Morelli either, yummy. I love the way the story line keeps your interest makes it hard to put the book down! I am hooked on the series again not sure why I stopped before.

John T. DeRito
January 19, 2012

John Thomas “Poppy” DeRito, 71, of Bunker Hill, went peacefully and unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at City Hospital.

Born Feb. 7, 1940, in Elsworth, Pa., he was the son of the late Alfonso DeRito and Rose (Pelligi) DeRito.

He retired from General Motors after 36 years of service. He had been a very active member of the U.A.W., Local No. 1590, and received the distinguished award of Walter P. Reuther, which, at that time, had only been given three times. He was the former vice president of the U.A.W. retirees.

Mr. DeRito loved sports and played semi-pro football for the Hagerstown Bears and was instrumental in organizing slow pitch industrial league softball. He was active in coaching his children in baseball and football. He was a member of the Musselman High School Football Boosters.

He was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Lou (Collins) DeRito; two sons, John Thomas DeRito II, of Bunker Hill, and Michael Dwayne DeRito, of Inwood; one daughter, Shellie Renee Bunn, of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Sariah, Ashley and Bradley DeRito, Devon Adamchuk, Dillon, Gavin and Grayson Bunn; one brother, Alfonso Joseph DeRito Jr. and wife, Ruth, Richwood; three sisters, Barbara Clutter and husband, Dale, of Inwood, Joanna Miller and husband, Joe, of Manning, S.C., and Rosemarie Miller, of Richwood; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at St. Leo Catholic Church with the Rev. Brian Shoda as celebrant.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, at Brown Funeral Home’s South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berkeley County Humane Society, 554 Charles Town Road, Martinsburg, WV 25405; or Musselman High School Football Boosters, 126 Excellence Way, Inwood, WV 25428.

Review: Flee – A Thriller

Flee - A Thriller
Flee – A Thriller by J.A. Konrath
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Let me start by saying I am a huge Konrath/Killborn fan. This book is action packed from the first paragraph and doesn’t stop. Literally, there are no chapters, which for me I like having a spot to stop easily and move on, however this does not weight in on the review. I feel this book would make a great movie with all of the action and fight scenes in it, but didn’t make for great reading. At times I got lost on who was doing what to whom, and had to sorta do a re-read on a few spots to make sure I caught that.

The ending leaves you feeling cheated, I get that this is number 1 which I assume means there will be more and thus the open ended ending.

I suggest reading pretty much anything else Konrath/Killborn has done before reading this one so that you don’t think this is his best work or his normal work. I would hate for you to miss out on some great stories.

Review: Vengeance: A Thriller

Vengeance: A Thriller
Vengeance: A Thriller by William Casey Moreton
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This book was another mystery of who done it? Were the good guy gets blamed for the murder and has to clear his own name with the cops. While fining out someone who he thought was a friend is really not that great of a friend. the ending ends as predicted. I read this on my kindle and I know it’s not a big deal but there were quite a lot of grammer errors that did start to irritate me. Overall it was a nice book.

Review: The Sandman: Season of Mists v. 4

The Sandman: Season of Mists v. 4
The Sandman: Season of Mists v. 4 by Neil Gaiman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

So what happens when Lucifer gives up the Key to Hell to the Dream Master? Not as much as I thought would happen. It was more of a counsel of who should get the Key now. It was anticlimactic, I was expecting more from that or some kind of trick on Lucifer’s part. It wasn’t one of my favorite Sandman’s but it was still “nice”. Even Nada let Morpheous off easy.
